ACA 2010 Renovation Extension

Can the Renovation Extension for ACA 2010 that's available from the Autodesk subscription center be used with VisionREZ Plug-in 7.0 or 7.1?

I use the VisionRez layer key overrides, but this new extension seems to have some automatic features, such as when a door is being relocated, the new wall segment is added that is to be constructed in its place, and this new wall segment is added with the appropriate layer key override and display. Plus, there appears to be an option to display quickly and separately: the existing, demo, and new construction.

Eave conditions question

I have 2 eave conditions on a house I'm working on. One is trusses will be used. The other will have a floor system/common framed rafters. I want the eaves of the house to be continious all around the structure. See the attached JPG file to see what I am trying to explain.

My question is: How to do this in vrez?

I want the reference point "A" in the JPG to be continious all around the house... same height and distance from the bearing wall.

Layer Tools - Line Type Suggestion

It would be helpful for the line types in the Layer Tools drop-down on the VisionREZ Ribbon to represent the actual lineweight and color of the line to be created.

In the attached image - if the VisionREZ Bold graphic would be shown as bold and yellow, I wouldn't need to select the line type to see what color it will be, and then draw a line to see the actual lineweight.

I noticed that 7.1 is the current shipping version. Where do I go to download the update from 7.0 to 7.1, and to find out what the update includes? Updates use to be on the download page, but this isn't. Also, will there possibly be another update after the ACA2010 service pack / update is released?

hsbCad and .NET

Anybody using hsbCad in conjunction with TSL and .NET? I am looking for some way to have the user select a block, then pass back the individual objects inside the block to a TSL. I have had little success so far, as currently there is no way to pass an object/entity reference back through a map to the TSL.
I am looking for anybody who has done something similar or has an idea of how to arrive at a point where objects inside a block can be seen in a TSL. Any crazy ideas welcome.

Accurately Quantifying Linear Footage of Bottom Plate Materials

I would like to account for the LF of bottom plates that are subtracted from the wall framing at door openings when I run a BOM report for wall framing material. Typically, walls and wall panels are constructed with continuous bottom plates through the door openings. The plates are cut away after the walls are standing and anchored to the foundation. As an estimator, this LF is important for accurate material takeoffs. Do you have any recommendations for accounting for this required framing material?

Sloped Low Wall w/Cap and Apron

I am in need of guidance in drawing a detail per the attached pic. This is a raked low wall at the stairs and includes a 1x8 cap with an apron. In addition, I would like to include the 1x12 finished stringers on each side of the stair carriage. My first thought was to use the "Stud Int With Cap" Specialty Walls tool, but I was unsuccessful in in retaining the cap when I sloped the top of the walls.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Repair Install?

I just had to do a repair install of Autocad Architecture 2008. After the repair I don't seem to get VisionRez again when I start a drawing, as before.

What does Vrez recommend to get it going again?
